College Story – LIL-120
Framing:
The College Story podcast is something that I’ve been looking forward to for a while now with the end of the LIL-120 semester. This assignment is basically all about “my” story, how college has been for me, and it focuses on all the important things that have happened to me over the course of my time here. It made me go back through time as I listened to all my audio journals that I made through my 13 weeks here at UNE. It allowed me a retrospective look at my evolution academically, socially, mentally and physically. Being able to do this has been eye opening, to be able to see how far I’ve come from the beginning to now in such a short amount of time is simply surprising. I’ve been able to understand how I’ve been able to change my bad habit of procrastination, I got to see how my interests developed through the semester, and how I began to understand what I missed from my English degree. This project is like a big capstone for me, like a wrap up of a time that I never really thought I’d be able to experience. Being at college like this came as a big surprise both to me and my entire family. So to be able to see myself here now and to be able to already reflect on half of my freshmen year over and done with, it’s gratifying, like the struggling and sacrifices were worth it. On a more technical level, the project has me taking all my previous audio journals, and then going into more detail about each thing I talked about in them with my own commentary on myself. It was kinda funny, like I was analyzing my own content, trying to make my own meaning of them. I would then take that commentary and connect to later entries.
