Zephyr and Creative Writing Readings

October 22nd

I had the opportunity to sit in on a live reading of some of the creative writing and Zephyr club’s works, from short stories to poems. I learned that the creative writing club was founded by Beanie Lowry in 2020. It created a larger space for students with a passion with writing, which, as Rachel states, since we have such a stem and science focused school, its good to have a space where writers still get their chance. Jesse Miller, the Creative Writing club advisor, was also there. I knew Jesse from my Screenwriting class, and he was happy to see me and a few others from that class in attendance. All the reading were very lovely to listen to, and the short fiction one that Lizzie Baker read from was my personal favorite, with the telling of an excerpt from her short story, “Monsters and Hunters”.
